Tasmanians have until Friday to apply for disaster recovery allowances, with deadlines in other states and territories staggered until August 12.
More than 229,000 claims worth $283 million have been paid out since September following the devastating bushfire season.
More than 80 per cent of the money has gone to people whose homes were seriously damaged or destroyed, or those who were seriously injured or lost an immediate family member in the fires.
Another $34.7 million was given to people eligible for these payments with a child in their care.
The remaining $15.9 million has gone to people who lost income as a direct result of the fires.
