I understand if the rails have been removed, but if the rails still there, no way it should be turned into a trail. I won't go up there just for the rail trail.
If there was a tourist railway I probably would. Once you loose an assist, you've lost it for ever.
Please don't do the same mistake what the Victorian Labor government are doing in Victoria and ripping up your rails.

I have ridden on some rail trails in Victoria and tell you the truth, not as many people use it. Waist of money, build it on the side of the railway if the council wants a trail.
Railway lines are meant for trains not walking trails.
