How are you staying fit, both physically and mentally?
Try to do 8000 steps daily. I only allow myself to listen to podcasts when I walk. This encourages me to get off my bum. Favourite podcasts are TGIF, Chat 10 Looks 3, The Squiz, 7am, Coronacast, Please Explain and Which Car. These give me plenty of incentive to get out and about.
What's the one thing keeping you sane?
Work and my Lions Club Involvement over Zoom.
Are you working from home?
Yes
If so how's that going, if not what's work like for you now?
I have worked from home for the last 20 years so not much difference there.
What's something positive you've witnessed or experienced since the coronavirus hit?
People are generally more thoughtful. Politics has become more civilised. Lets hope that continues after the crisis. Compared to many countries we are in a pretty good shape. Level headed political decisions have played a part in this.
What have you learned about yourself amid the crisis?
As a bit of an introverted computer nerd some isolation is not much of a problem. However we are missing the grandkids greatly and my regular trips to Sydney to see my mum, daughter and family. I am trying to teach mum to use Zoom on her iPad, which is a bit of a challenge.
What's your advice for others to cope with the crisis?
My main lesson learned from working from home for the last 20 years is get a routine and try to stick to it. Get dressed each day, set a couple of goals and make some time for others in the day.
