Baseball NSW has confirmed there will be no play, or training allowed during the lock-down period, but the decision to abandon the season rests with the Tamworth Baseball Association.
"At present no baseball activities can take place until further notice has been provided, and the powers that be lift the current state and federal restrictions," the statement read.
"Baseball NSW are hopeful that there will be an opportunity to resume some form of competition prior to the end of the 2020 winter season, however this is a day-to-day proposition and no guarantees can be given."
Baseball NSW has also closed online registrations for the upcoming season, until the government's restrictions have been lifted.
"Any winter competition fees that have already been paid to Baseball NSW will be refunded to the respective parties, where their competitions have been terminated, or they wish to cancel their membership for this year," the statement read.
"Any additional fees paid will need to be collected from the relevant parties directly."
The Tamworth Baseball Association's board will meet in the coming weeks to discuss a potential start date for the season.
The board's meeting will come after the association made the tough call last month to cancel its annual June long-weekend baseball carnival.
