"Currently 12 COVID-19 patients are being cared for in our hospitals, six in ICU. Of the 218 cases, 33 have recovered so far," a HNEH spokesperson said.
Of the 218 cases, 174 people contracted COVID-19 from overseas; 27 others contracted the infection from a close contact of a confirmed case; and 14 people have acquired the case locally, but authorities can't determine where. Three other cases are still under investigation.
Authorities still can't determine where two people in Tenterfield contracted the virus, with the cases remaining on a locally acquired from an unknown source area list.
