The average age of members is in the mid 70s, with Owen Croft the club's oldest player at 87.
But he is not alone for his age bracket. Including Croft, the club has eight octogenarians.
Croft first started playing tennis 60 years ago, and still plays each Saturday afternoon and Wednesday morning on the courts at the Rockvale Road tennis club.
He was there on Saturday afternoon, when MP Adam Marshall called in on March 21 to inspect the courts that had been upgraded with a $19,000 grant from the state government.
Mr Marshall said it was a pleasure to officially open the upgraded courts, before he played a game of doubles with three of the club's members.
Not only does the synthetic grass courts give players the option of playing on two different surfaces, but it also reduces the time the club has to put into the maintenance of their courts, as well as the cost.
