I write today as a community member that is in total dismay at what is going on within the workings of seven councillors against the management of the ARC. I do not understand why nor does a large cross section of the community.

It is not a good look for the community not just within but from afar. These councillors should be held accountable for insisting on upending the council seven months out from an election.
This ARC under the guidance of the CEO has achieved many great things for our community as laid out in meeting agendas and the budget figures.
The CEO has guided the newly amalgamated council through the difficult time of the drought for which we are still in, with her hard work and dedication to task and the community we have achieved huge amounts of funding for our community to assist us in getting through the hard times and to keep the community open for business.
The CEO has a huge job working within management and operational areas to ensure the council wheels keep turning.
The operational area must be left as it is with no interference from councillors as that is not within their role.
The management team and those in operational areas were employed as such based on their education training and qualifications.
The councillors are not qualified in these areas of water management, roads, parks and gardens, and so on they should stay out of it.

You don't have to be educated in a specific area or qualified to run as a councillor, maybe that's where the problem lies?
Uneducated people wanting to tell those qualified how to do their job and how their job should be done. It is appalling and again not what they were elected for.
I support the council, as it is the CEO, management, operational staff, and at present a small number of dedicated councillors working within their job role to ensure we move forward. These are the councillors that have the communities best interest at heart.
I do not support the rogue 7 and the disrepute they bring to the ARC.
Shame the community cannot move a vote of no confidence motion against them and have them removed from their role.
In undertaking all this and to continue to do so is abusing their position on the ARC. That is exactly what a large cross section of the community feels also.
Where do we go as a community from here? How can we move forward and achieve what is necessary for our community while this continues?
It is the community that will suffer for it. I have seen that in the motion of reduction of CEO spending amount, of which 25 projects will be immensely affected. The roll on effect will be detrimental to us.
They are bringing the house down one brick at a time and we get no say.
We have an awesome CEO and management team, let them do their job to guide us the community for tomorrow and into the future.
