"Considering we went from 29 per cent full a couple of weeks ago to today, which is over 100 per cent, it's unbelievable," he said.
"Everywhere's wet, everywhere's green. The drought is still not over, but for us it's a godsend.
"We were looking down the barrel, so as to speak, and hopefully this will dilute the arsenic level even more, though we still have to wait and see what's happening with that."
Cr Pearce said it was nice to be wet and it was good not to be looking down the 100 day scenario anymore.
"Our day zero has blown right out," he said.
"Where I am at Invergowrie, which is 20 kilometres from Uralla and 30 from the Kentucky catchment, I've been receiving from 25mm to 35mm per day. It's just ridiculous.
"I've had to mow my grass three times in a week. Every time I look at it it grows."
Cr Pearce said it was the great, positive sign needed.
