At 4.30am on Thursday, February 6, a man smashed the front screen and pulled out the electronic components of the Commonwealth Bank ATM outside Kirk's IGA.
He then did the same to the Regional Australia Bank ATM.
Fortunately, the offender was not able to gain entry to either ATM, and no money was taken.
Police are following a number of lines of inquiry; they have spoken to witnesses, and watched CCTV footage from the crime scenes.
No arrest has been made yet, but the police say they have a description of the offender.
They hope that anyone who may have witnessed the robberies or who has information will contact the police on 6738 4299, or Crime Stoppers NSW on 1800 333 000.
A spokesperson said the Regional Bank Australia was working with third party vendors to get the ATM operational as soon as possible.
The branch operating hours of 10am-3pm Monday - Thursday and 9am - 5pm Fridays will not be affected. The bank encourages customers to come into the branch during these hours, or look at using EFTPOS where possible.
