Originally hailing from Armidale, Jhana Allan is a strings teacher at the New England Conservatorium of Music(NECoM) and also plays with local ensemble The Kingfishers.
Birdine Warne is the owner of Little Birdy. With an obvious nod to the owner, the store's name 'Little Birdy' also pays homage to both Hilda McMaugh (the nurse from Uralla who found herself in England in 1919 after the Armistice and decided to become the first Australian woman to qualify as a pilot) and Nancy Bird Walton - the youngest Australian woman to gain a pilot's licence.
On Saturday, February 15 the duo will host a fundraising mini music festival in the store which is a converted aircraft hangar on Hill Street in Uralla.
Little Birdy's doors will open at 1.30 pm, and the festival vibe will continue until 9.00 pm.
"All bands are local except for a band from Kempsey," said Ms Allan.
"There will be face painting for the kids, and a Uralla RFS fire truck is coming in at around 4 pm.
"A representative from the Diggings Brigade will speak in between the bands as well because all the money raised will be donated to that brigade and Dumaresq."
The festival musical line-up consists of Fovndlings, The Altones, Tri, Tangled Weed, The Kingfishers, Rebecca Tafra, and Sons of Autumn.
Other local businesses have jumped on board, and Dobsons Winery, Cold Country Organics, Simon Scott Photography, Maxine Ross yoga and relaxation, Humble Cook and Reader's Companion have all donated prizes for the raffle.
"A range of food trucks are expected to come and The Trader Store, Pie Mechanic and Buddha Belly Kitchen are all confirmed," said Ms Allan.
"There will also be a sausage sizzle and alcohol will be available for purchase."
Tickets will be for sale on the door, and the cost is $25 for adults and $12 for kids 12 and over.
