The Australian Indoor Hockey Festival has finished on a golden note for the region's representatives with the NSW State boys side featuring New England's Tyler McCann and coached by Tamworth's Greg Doolan taking out the under-15s title in Wollongong on the weekend.

The home side blitzed Victoria 5-nil in the gold medal game, McCann scoring a double.
He struck twice in three minutes in the third quarter to give NSW a 3-nil lead heading into the final quarter.
The NSW Blues side of which New England Hockey New England indoor convenor Paul Eichorn was a manager, just missed out on a medal going down to Queensland 4-nil in the bronze play-off.
New England's Pip Constable also brought home a medal with her NSW State girls side winning the bronze.
They defeated Western Australia 4-1 in the play-off on the back of doubles in the second and final quarters.
Tamworth's Ella Mitchell meanwhile suited up for the Blues side which finished seventh.
The medals topped off a great tournament from the NSW sides.
They were crowned national champions in seven of the 10 divisions, and overall won 13 medals.
