Not since they recorded their lone win over Hillgrove in round four of the 2018-19 season had Servies landed a win but they did it in emphatic style on Saturday.
Guyra batted first and the Servies' bowlers set to work.
Barry Lockwood led the way with 3-30, Bilal Mohammed and Jarrod Burton picked up two each while Sreejan Tarafder and captain John Elliot claimed one each as they bowled Guyra out for 176.
"I think we set it up in the field, we bowled to plans," Elliot said.
"Every bowler I used pitched in, whether it was with tight lines and lengths or just handy wickets.
"I was pretty happy with how Burto bowled and Baz Lockwood, two spinners bowled really well."
In what Elliot described as "a real team performance," batsmen Tarafder, John McKay and Benji Marshall performed as Servies chased down the required runs only three wickets down.
Stepping up to the top grade, McKay whacked 86 runs, including 13 fours.
"I was pretty happy with Sreejan at the top of the order there and then John McKay came in and really controlled the pace of the game," Elliot said.
"Benji backed him up with a solid partnership in the middle."
In the lead up to the clash, Elliot told the Armidale Express "once we get that win, we will be right." Now, Elliot is hoping the victory has laid a solid platform.
"It is always good when you get a win, it is just a matter of building on that," he said.
"In each game, we know what standard of cricket we have got to play to win now; it is a matter of being thereabouts week-in, week-out.
"But we are not getting ahead of ourselves, we are taking each game as it comes."
Elliot could only find one negative from the game - two dropped catches on Guyra's top run-scorer Ben Jackson.
