"It's about sharing with community what we actually do, and giving the opportunity for people to hear us play," the band's music director, Vanessa Bartley-Heterick, said. "This is what we do: we play for the community."
From 10am to noon, the band plays a mix of rock and roll, classical, marches, and Christmas music. As Christmas comes closer, the band will play more carols. "We don't want to burn out on the Christmas music!" Ms Bartley-Heterick said.
The band is also holding its annual fundraising raffle to support general costs and buy new music and instruments.
First prize this year is a trailer filled with goodies to use in the backyard: a leaf blower, whipper snipper, compost bin, lawn mower, and other garden tools. A barbecue is second prize, and third prize is a Christmas food hamper.
Band members sell tickets for $2 at the Mall every day. Winners will be drawn at noon on December 21.

There are almost 30 musicians in the band - but the group always wants new members.
Three youngsters - aged 10, 11, and 13 - are coming into the band, and will perform in public for the first time at the Saturday sessions
"Without the young ones, the band will will disappear one day," vice-president Amy Humphries said. "So the more young people we can get interested in the band, the better."
Playing in a community band is good training for young musicians, Ms Bartley-Heterick said. "It's an opportunity to help balance ensembles and orchestras."
For adult members, like Ms Humphries, playing in the band and socialising can be a passion.
If people want to get involved, they can contact the Armidale City Band via Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/armidalecityband/), or call them on 0427 267 638.
The band also rehearses in Dumaresq Street every Wednesday night from 7 to 9pm. You don't need to be able to play an instrument, Ms Humphries said. "You can learn how to play an instrument and become part of the band all in one!"
The band will play at the Guyra Christmas Carols at the MPS on Tuesday night, and at Carols by Candlelight in Central Park on Wednesday.
Next year, the band will perform at a drought relief concert in Bradley Street, Guyra; at the Lamb and Potato Festival; and at Armidale's Australia Day celebrations.
