Of course, there is more to it than that, as branch president Leonie Hawkins explained.

"They are the normal feed bags you get your dog biscuits, cook feed or you horse feed in, and we're cleaning them out and turning them into what would look like shopping bags," she said.

"They look lovely because they've usually go a lovely photograph of a horse or a cow or a chook or a lamb or something on the front.

"We've had so many offers of feed bags. So many people have been throwing feed bags at us, which is great, but we don't have as many people sewing them. So, we would like more people to put their hand up and offer to sew a few for us."

Leonie said Guyra Central School was helping out with some of the needlework.

"I think they have done about 100," she said.

"Lots of different things go into them for Christmas. Toiletries, cleaning products, there's food, pantry items and every now and then we get some toys and gift items.

"Along with that we've had several NSW organisations that have offered money, and we're buying vouchers form the local businesses and putting those in the hampers."

Leonie said the CWA was selling the bags for $10 each.

"We think they're worth that, but at the moment we don't have any for sale because we're using them all," she said.
