The AFL North West, North Coast and Hunter Central Coast associations announced an International Community Partnership with AFL Vanuatu.
Under this new partnership, youth aged players from Northern NSW will have the chance participate in a football and cultural experience in Vanuatu.
This opportunity would include games against similar aged players from Vanuatu, possibly the national under 15 team as part of their preparations for the South Pacific Championships, together with cultural experiences to gain insight into the Ni-Van people, as well as other tourist activities.
Clubs within Northern NSW will have the opportunity to host AFL Vanuatu players for a season to assist with their development.
AFL Vanuatu works with a very small operating budget running basic programs but the appetite for footy is far exceeding the current capacity to deliver.
Under the partnership the three associations will commit to a yearly fundraiser that will see funds going towards the growth and development of footy in Vanuatu.
