The team made their way to the Gold Coast two weeks ago to take part in the tournament and came up against the best sides from the east coast of the country.
Casey Rainger, Brock Parsons, Jacob Pearce, Ryan Harris, Cooper Heagney, Angus Towie, Aiden Webster, Stuart Parsons, Josh Dunbar and goalkeeper Nick Jackson were part of the school's team who finished sixth.
They didn't make the finals after a few lapses in concentration in a handful of matches but were chuffed at taking on top-level teams.
"It is really satisfying when you play well up there against some of the best teams in Australia," Brock said.
"Last year we got fifth and we might have been expecting to re-create that."
Casey said: "It is good to verse teams of a higher quality because it really challenges you than versing amateur teams so it pushes your skills a lot higher than what they would normally be."
At the end of the tournament, Ryan was chosen as one of the top players, named in an Australian All Star five and earning a spot in the team to travel overseas. He admitted he was "shocked" to be chosen and will head to China with the team.
"We were sitting at the end of the complex and I heard 'Armidale Secondary College' muffled over the speakers and I was like 'one of us just got selected for the team of the tournament,'" Ryan said.
"Then we went up there and one of my friends said to me 'you just got just selected for All Star fives.'"
The group were thankful to teacher Tom Model and their parents for giving them the opportunity to play.
"We have got to say thanks to Mr Model, our coach and teacher for taking us there and dealing with us for the weekend, driving us around and helping us food, helping us stay healthy while we are up there," Ryan said.
