"Due to the very poor air quality in Armidale over recent weeks, as a result of nearby bushfires, we have been encouraged to 'ensure we are monitoring air quality regularly, and making decisions surrounding our sport and clubs in the best interests of our volunteers, members and players health and wellbeing,'" the association announced via Facebook.
Round six this Saturday is scheduled to see Easts and City collide. The last time they met, Easts batsmen Clarrie Moran and Cody Graham put on a show.
"At TAS the key is trying to restrict runs, Clash and Cody are the two big scalps we need to get early," City captain Karl Triebe said.
"We got Cody last time, not Clash. We need to get that wicket early."
Easts will have a different side to the team who lined up in round one. Sam Uphill and Dean Waters are expected to be out. At Ted Mulligan Oval, Hillgrove will aim to bounce back from their last-start loss when they face Guyra.
They were under-strength on Saturday and will be again with Dick Heagney, Josh Croft and Matthew Schaefer expected to be absent.
Hamish Biddle will make his first grade debut, Matt Baillie returns to the team and Dave Schmude will step up to fill their shoes.
Guyra had the week off with the bye after beating Easts in their round four match but are expected to field a similar line up to their last one.
