Organisers Lochie Robinson and Nathan Smith, both aged 12 and students at Armidale City Public School, saw the devastation wrought by the recent fires in Tenterfield and Ebor and wanted to do something to help.
"We decided to call our ride Burning Miles, because we'll be burning miles for people who have had miles burnt," Lochie said.

The kids have been encouraged in their efforts by the Rural Fire Service.
They wil ride on Saturday, November 2, and all funds raised will be given to BlazeAid, a volunteer organisation who move into bushfire affected areas to help communities recover by activities such as rebuilding fences and other structures.
"We'd love to support BlazeAid to thank them for everything they do to get people back on their feet after fires," Nathan said.
Lochie and Nathan have planned a route between the towns and recruited a group of kids to ride with them.
They will set out from Bellevue Oval in Armidale and finish at Alma Park, Uralla.
