Tickets for the 2020 inaugural Young Farmer Business Program Conference will go on sale from Monday, October 21.

DPI's Deputy Director General of Engagement and Industry Assistance, Brett Fifield, said the event builds on existing programs, aiming to provide opportunities for our next generation of primary producers. It is expected to attract around 200 young farmers and fishers from across NSW.

"The inaugural Young Farmer Business Program Conference, which will be held in Dubbo, will include a fantastic range of speakers; headlined by Mark Bouris from the television shows 'The Mentor' and 'The Apprentice Australia'," Mr Fifield said.

"The focus of the conference will be on business skills, finance, planning and giving inspiration to encourage participants to not only survive but thrive in the primary industries sector.

"Conference participants will learn about the drivers of successful primary production businesses, the support services available, and the steps needed to achieve their dreams.

"I have no doubt participants will walk away with the business skills, connections, knowledge, inspiration and a clear vision to give their farming and fishing businesses a significant head start," Mr Fifield concluded.

A wide range of trade exhibitors will be on hand to answer questions; a panel session with young farmers will allow them to share their stories and insights; and conference attendees will have opportunities to network and share experiences with each other.

Farm and business tours are on offer on February 6 with the Conference to be officially opened on Friday, February 7, 2020.
