Huxley is the son of one of the form workers at the Armidale Secondary College building site. When he was diagnosed with cancer it was confronting for the whole family, and that's why workers on the site decided the proceeds of this Friday's barbecue should go to his family.

Richard Crooks Constructions senior contract administrator, Jeremiah Bain, said the company puts on the barbecue, and matches dollar for dollar any funds raised.
"We do a barbecue every fortnight, and so far we've raised about $3500, for Beyond Blue," he said.

"We've got about 180 workers on-site today and some of them will chuck in $50, two dollars or whatever it is, and we put on the food.
"The trades take turns, last week we had the plumbers put on the barbecue, today it was us, the builders, next week it will be the electricians, and then it will be the form workers and then the ceiling fixers."
Richard said the barbecues were held on most sites.
"We've been doing this since we started here. The first week we got $100, but when we have 300 men on-site we should be making $600 or $700."
