Well, council CEO Susan Law has said residents will probably not notice a difference between the level four restrictions we are on now and the level five restrictions to commence on October 1.
For Armidale Regional Council Mayor Simon Murray, it remains all about residents and businesses pushing day-zero further into the future by conserving water supplies.

An example of what can be achieved was demonstrated last month. Following a Town Hall meeting the residents of Miriam Vale, between Gladstone and Bundaberg, cut their water usage by about 50 litres per day, and the Mayor of Gladstone said he would ideally like to see each person using 125 litres of water per day.
While residents here strive to reduce our consumption, especially during the impending hotter summer months when usage traditionally spikes, Cr Murray said it was now time for businesses to implement their Water Saving Action Plans.
"Some businesses have already commenced this work, but there are many that haven't," he said.
"If residents and businesses adopt water saving initiatives now we may be able to defer any action that council might have to take to limit access to water for business and recreational activities."
Cr Murray said council would remain agile to respond to the conditions, and that meant sometimes making difficult decisions about water access if the drought continued.
