Last year on the first Tuesday of the October school holidays, a curious and somewhat bemused crowd of locals and visitors turned up in the Beardy Street Mall and were treated to an entertaining mix of performers from around the world for a few hours of fun.

The event was well received and Armidale Regional Council has brought the event back this year with a completely different group of acts.

Promoter John Logan from Coffs Harbour has put together another group and is inviting everyone to come down to watch.
"I feel a bit like Hugh Jackman in the movie with a whole bunch of weridos in tow," John said.
"But I guarantee that unless you have travelled to a whole lot of exotic locations around the globe, you won't have heard of let alone seen Leapin' Louie from Portland Oregon, the Unicycling Unicorn with the world's tallest unicycle from Blaine Minnesota.
"Or Floor Legendz from Sydney whose members are from Germany, New Zealand and Syria, Balloon Boy from Chile and Melon the Human, an Australian who has just returned from a stint with Cirque de Soleil."
Coffs Buskers Festival has been running annually since the year 2000. It used to be run by the Rotary Club of Coffs Harbour but after it became too much for them Mr Logan's company took on the job of organising the event.
Then last year they reached out to other councils, leading to Armidale Regional Council asking to host the festival for a day.
Armidale Regional Council Mayor Simon Murray said last year's inaugural event was a great success, as people filled the mall and enjoyed a fun and interactive day.
"Council is bringing this school holiday event to Armidale to give families a low-cost opportunity to be entertained and explore businesses in the CBD," Cr Murray said.
The event is an offshoot of the annual Coffs Harbour International Buskers and Comedy Festival, which brings in a selection of performers from all around the world.
"I loved it when we came last year, this year it will be bigger and better," Mr Logan said.
"The shows are free so why not treat the kids to a fun day? If you work in the city centre, take a lunch break and come down.
"There will be rides and slides as well, so make a day of it and enjoy the fun."
The action kicks off at 10am in the Beardy Street Mall.
