"Just a few months ago the water consumption was around 220 litres PPPD," she said.
"Last week that was down to 180 - 175 litres. So, significantly less which is fantastic.
"I think people are getting behind these measures now. The people in Guyra have reduced their consumption by 35 per cent, which is great and it now looks as if the residents of Armidale are doing the same."

Mrs Law said a great deal could be achieved if the people of Armidale persevered and reduced their water usage just a slight bit more.
"At this rate, and if we keep going down to 160 litres PPPD, we can extend the life of Malpas Dam by another four months," she said.
"So, instead of looking at Day Zero at being in October 2020, we can eek it out to February 2021."
Mrs Law said council was a little bit worried about the approach of summer and its hotter weather.
"It is when people's water usage naturally increases," she said.
"However, if people can continue to be frugal, keep reusing their water, it will make a big difference.
"People need to keep up the good work."
