Patsy Kemp will paint a picture of the life of a drover and his family during the 1950s and 1960s at the Guyra library from 11am - noon and the Armidale library at 3pm - 4pm when she launches her new novel "The Drover's Daughter".
Her work describes the highs and lows of growing up on the stock routes of NSW and Queensland, living out of a small truck with a family of nine, six horses, four dogs and 3000 sheep.

Ms Kemp thought drovers held an iconic place in the Australian national identity and have long captured the imaginations of people around the world because they possessed the traits of courage and perseverance, much needed to take cattle and sheep hundreds of kilometres through rural and outback areas.
Her exploration of the drover's life turns the spotlight on the women and children who travelled with them.
Kaneana May was a screenwriter for some of Australia's favourite television dramas including Home and Away, All Saints and Headland, and is launching her her debut novel, The One.
She will speak at the Armidale library from 12.30pm - 1.30pm. on Friday, September 20.
Ms May was raised on the NSW Mid-North Coast and will discuss the inspiration behind The One, as well as the trials and successes of her career so far.
