Cancer Council's community relations co-ordinator Tracey Cullen was in her element on Thursday afternoon when she launched one of Cancer Council's major fundraising events, Stars of Armidale, at the Armidale City Bowling Club.

"It's here at the bowling club on November 29," she said.
"It's all about raising funds to keep our services going here in Armidale. It's going to be a fantastic night. We bring local people together with semi-professional dancers to perform.

"They are going to entertain you. It's like the Dancing With the Stars program on TV. The night is just a really fun, community, entertaining night for everybody."
CSIRO acting research director - livestock Sonja Dominik is one who will be learning some dance moves to entertain with on the night.
"I'm very much looking forward to that. I think it is just a fantastic cause," she said.
"I'm a beast cancer survivor, so when they asked me to participate and be one of the stars there was no hesitation. I love busting some funky arsed moves.
"I prefer something fast paced - maybe rock and roll."
UNE law student Hayden Gray was not certain what sort of routine he would be mastering for the night.
"It could be a Tango or a quick step, but we'll see how fast a lawyer in training can move," he said.
"This will be a full 1920s tuxedo, white tie and all. I wouldn't go as far as saying a full 007 performance, but you never know.
"I hope it will be a really fun night for everyone because cancer touches everyone's life in one way or another.
