The annual NEGS polocrosse carnival which is held a Bald Blair was cancelled due to the dry conditions.
But the club has offered members a positive alternative.
The 'Girl Talk' polocrosse workshop will be held in place of the carnival which encompasses both on-the-field and off-the-field skills and training.
Twelve teenagers from 12-year-old to 17-years-old will take part in the workshop on Friday and Saturday and host Jo Finlayson said it was important to this age group.
"Keep up morale and it is a great initiative," she said.
"Lucy Grills, who is the world's best female polocrosse player has come up with this initiative because she was bullied when she was younger and it is getting girls together.
"There is a sports psychologist, a nutritionist, personal training, there is yoga, [NEGS polocrosse coach] Ella Elks is going to do the polocrosse coaching as well."
With most of the NEGS polocrosse club coming from family farms affected by the drought, as well as the age group of the participants, Finlayson said it was a good fit for the group to conduct this as an alternative to playing the sport.
"The polocrosse club is subsiding it, we have taken some of our own money out to make it cheaper for families as we feel it is so important," she said.
"All the parents said they felt so strongly about it that it was worth putting our fundraising towards it.
"All these girls are off the land, there are not many city girls. It is something that is very prevalent."
