It was a massive task for the Eels, coming up against a Boomerangs team vying for their 10th straight decider and only fielding 15 players in the clash.
Down 18-4 after nearly 20 minutes of play, Narwan hit their straps and posted the next 40 points.
They continued with their form late in the game to take the win 50-22.
Player-coach Shaun Collins was "very proud" of his team who dug deep to get the win.
"We were short of players so I was very proud of every man took the field, we only had 15 players," he said.
"We had to scruff around and some of the forwards stepped up and laid the platform."
The decider is set to be in Glen Innes on August 25.
Collins believes they have the ability to take the premiership away from the current champions the Boomerangs.
"If they show what they did on Sunday I believe we can do it," he said.
"An Armidale team hasn't won it for I don't know how long.
"It would mean a lot to us."
The Boomerangs will face the Armidale Rams in Moree this Sunday in the preliminary final for the other spot in the decider.
As for who they will face, Collins believes it could be the team they took on last Sunday.
"I reckon them again, just with the home crowd and I am not sure what Armidale will bring, they will bring everything but their home crowd and home advantage," he said.
