True to form, University students christened it "The Toaster", some call it EZ10, a driverless bus and to others it is known as an autonomous vehicle. Whatever you would like to call it, it has been seen on the streets of Armidale CBD.

Armidale Regional Council mayor Simon Murray said that was as it should be for the beginning of the second phase.
"At the moment, they are mapping out a new route, and that will take a fair while to process," he said.
ALSO READ:
"They are doing what they did at the UNE during the first phase. Just going around and making sure it recognises where it is, where it has got to stop etc.
"There were no passengers at the UNE at the time, and the same thing is happening here now. There are no passengers while it is doing the mapping route through the CBD."
Cr Murray said the UNE was not involved in the second phase.
"This was always going to be a council bus at the end of the day. Working in collaboration with with UNE, all the students and traffic out there was a good test for it," he said.
