In support of local businesses, drought-affected farmers and to provide an opportunity for the community to enjoy old-fashioned family fun, Inverell will stage the action-packed rock 'n' roll festival.
Celebrating all things 50s and 60s rock 'n' roll vintage, the weekend will kick off with a delivery of fresh Krispy Kreme donuts on the Friday by Fly Corporate.
Whether its original glazed or an assorted dozen, you can easily get your hands on some mouth watering donuts delivered by a 1958 red Morris Minor.
But hurry, orders will close on August 16 at 5pm. Head to Eventbrite to order yourself some delicious Krispy Kreme treats.
Later on the Friday, Inverell's Transport Museum will turn into a classic drive-in, complete with popcorn, drinks and hot dogs delivered to your car.
Saturday will be filled to the brim with a classic pin-up pageant for guys and gals, competitions, fashion parades, dance displays, vintage car bake-off, entertainers, fossicking for sapphires, Billy cart derby competitions, kids games, tug-of-war, retro displays and great prizes.
Throughout the day the vintage cars, caravans, bikes, shop window displays, outfits and music over the town's loudspeakers will add to the atmosphere.
If you would like to participate in the Sapphire City Billy Cart Derby, entry forms will need to be completed and a gold coin entry per driver paid. Races will be held on a grass hill in Lions Park.
Contact Peter on 0428 984 137 to pick up a form or to find out more about the rules and regulations of billy carts entered.
On Saturday night, Inverell's Town Hall will host an old-style rock 'n' roll dance with music from The Rock 'n' Rollers band.
Dancers from Brisbane and Tamworth will be showcasing their talents and getting everybody up and bopping the night away.
Food vans will be outside the hall offering well-deserved refreshments. Loud music, dancing, drinks, 50's fashions ensure it's a night not to be missed.
To grab yourself a ticket, visit Evenbrite, or head into The Brew Shed.
Sunday rounds off the weekend with classic movie 'Singing in the Rain' at the Majestic Cinema.
An entertaining, fast-paced roller derby demonstration by the New England roller derby league will also be held at the Inverell Tourist Information car park, complete with music and fun-filled commentary.
Inverell welcomes all families, groups, singles and couples to an explosive weekend of entertainment at all levels.
Inverell Events Inc with the help of Sapphire Wind Farm, Inverell Shire Council, APM, Bindaree Beef, Bidfood and a dedicated group of volunteers have organised a top line-up of fun event to entertain all age groups.
