"Others are using smart solar energy systems to produce their electricity and unshackle themselves from quarterly power bills.
"While many homes are benefiting from energy saving tricks picked up from free Z-NET Home Energy Reviews and Curtain Making workshops, improving the comfort of their homes and reducing the cost of living," she said.
The event linked the Elephant in the Woodland project on sustainable firewood and the focus on water as high priorities.
There were 14 displays and the ones that really drew a lot of interest were The Z-NET curtain making ladies showing people how to keep your home warm with curtains and draft excluders, the SNELC display on environmental projects, included feral animal control, and the transition street display.
Ms Eady estimated 120-130 people passed through the expo.
A long list of people signed on to join the Transition Street movement, the next few free curtain making workshops were booked out, people building or renovating their own homes collected leads on sustainable design and people's awareness on the need to conserve water was raised with more than 150 shower timers handed out.
