The Redmen defeated the Scorpions 3-2 for their round 15 Northern Inland Premier League clash.
Both teams were missing a host of regular starters but Edmunds' team got the job done.
"We got off to a very quick start, we got a goal in the first couple of minutes," he said.
"We proceeded to take our chances in the first-half and were up 3-nil at half-time.
"Souths came back with plenty fire in the second-half and we were able to defend it out and win the game."
After creating plenty of opportunities but not finishing them off the week before against Demon Knights, Edmunds was pleased they were able to get over the line against a speedy Scorpions outfit.
"Souths had the run of the game in most of the first-half but we had four chances in the first-half and took three, that hasn't been our case for most of the year; we have been creating chances but not scoring them all," he said.
"Against Souths we were able to put those away which was pleasing and defended well in the second-half to come away with the victory.
"It was a hard, fast game and we took our chances, that was difference."
With six games left for the regular season before semi-finals, Edmunds is hoping to polish off the game plan.
"The last few weeks we haven't put great performances on the park but we have hung in there and worked hard with what we have got," he said.
"One day we will put it all together and look out."
