Council is encouraging people to book early as demand is high at the moment for water cartage services. This water comes from the town water supply and residents accessing this water for their tanks must adhere to water restrictions and conserve water.

Current water restrictions for Armidale remain at level four and Guyra still has level five restrictions. Residents living on properties with water tanks that are empty will need to pay for water through a local water carting business.
"There is stock water available for people trying to water cattle/ sheep. Council has available water for small quantities only at the Armidale Council Depot in Mann Street. People will need to bring their own containers and hose attachments to access that water from a tap," said Joanna Harrison from Armidale Council.
"The Kentucky Creek Dam that supplies the township of Uralla has been slowly recovering and is currently at 56% providing for about 235 ML of available water. So there is no current pressure to increase the level of restrictions at Uralla. Water cartage for house tanks is permissible. Water cartage for stock watering from the town supplies is not permitted on Level 3, 4 or 5 restrictions," said David Aber, Acting General Manager.
Uralla rate payers can purchase for $5.10 1,000 litres of drinking water but rate payers will need their own containers. Monies are paid at the council and a receipt presented at Uralla depot. Stock water is available from Maitland Point, Rocky River.
