The Rotary Club of Armidale AM commenced the 2019 - 2020 Rotary year on Wednesday, June 26, at the Armidale City Bowling Club under the leadership of President Sam Doyle, and welcomed Kat Johnston as their newest member at an official induction ceremony.

Kat moved from the United Kingdom with her Australian partner and established herself in the Armidale community.
President Sam spoke of Kat's "willingness and drive to be a participant of the Armidale Community and uphold the philosophy of service above self."
The club also had District 9650 Governor Lorraine Coffey in attendance to welcome Kat into the Rotary Community.
Lorraine highlighted the importance of having young people engaged in regional communities to the meeting, and said she was thrilled to have Kat join the club at the commencement of a busy year ahead.
"It is vital that we as Rotary look after the communities in which we serve, and it is heartening to have someone like Kat wanting to be a part of Rotary," she said.

At the club's recent changeover dinner held at the Armidale City Bowling Club, it was announced that the Armidale A.M Rotary Club had donated $30,000 into the local community through funds raised during the 2018-2019 Rotary year.
The AM Club has partnered with the Armidale PCYC in the management and running of the Armidale Markets in the Mall meeting on the last Sunday of each month.
Armidale is host to four Rotary Clubs that meet in a number of locations throughout the city and caters for those looking for a breakfast, lunch or dinner forum.
The Armidale AM Club meets every Wednesday morning at 7am in the bistro of the Armidale City Bowling Club, and welcomes expressions of interest from prospective members.
