Ben Michie, 27, was sentenced to 12 months' imprisonment in Armidale Local Court last week after his conviction for escaping lawful custody.
Magistrate Michael Holmes ordered that his sentence be served consecutively with his prior term of imprisonment. All of Michie's jail terms will expire on August 22 2021.
Michie was recaptured at Mulligans Hut off the Gwdir highway halfway to Grafton in May after spending one day free. His escape was discovered in a routine count at 8.50am on Tuesday by Corrective Services' officers. He was refused bail two days' later.
He was arrested at Mulligans Hut, off the Gwydir highway on Wednesday.
