Member for New England Barnaby Joyce was confirmed as the winner New England as of 12pm on Wednesday. There are 6000 more votes still to be counted, but they will not change the outcome of the election in this seat.

Mr Joyce won 51,155 first preference votes at the Poll, Adam Blakester received 13,438 and Yvonne Langenberg 11,722. Mr Joyce said he never took anything for granted and always campaigned as though he was one vote behind.
"I am humbled by this very strong vote of confidence. I take that very seriously, and I don't take a week off after the Poll. I go straight back to work," Mr Joyce said.

"At other times you have other responsibilities that you must carry out, but this allows me to have time to deal with the issues of seeing people. It allows me to actually go to towns and stay there the night."
Mr Joyce said it meant he did not always have to rush away because of a previous duty somewhere else.
"Obviously you don't have the same amount of influence as you had before, but all that means is you just have to exercise your lobbying capacity," he said.
