Saturday had Dennis Carson shooting in the veteran mens compound division, Teena Hooper in masters compound ladies division and Ella-rose Carson cadet recurve ladies division.
Conditions were next to perfect for the 60/900 Fita round. T
his consists of 30 arrows at each of 60, 50 and 40 metres.
The three Armidale Archers all started slow and were unable to make up lost ground with Dennis finishing second, Teena fifth and Ella-rose also finished with silver.
Day two was the same event for the open division.
Once again all three competed. Dennis finished ninth and Teena seventh, however both were happier with their shooting.
Ella-rose shot in the open ladies recurve division and was competing against the top archers in the state.
This was a very close competition with the lead see-sawing throughout the event and it was not until the last end was the result known.
Ella-rose's score of 283 at 40 metres saw her win the event with a score of 806 with Kim Lavender two points behind and Laura Trezise another point behind on 803.
Although the same event as the previous day Ella-rose shot 22 points better.
This was an excellent achievement for her following on from her success at the recent national youth archery championships.
Locally, a beginners course commences this Saturday.
Anyone interested in taking part needs to contact the club through their website.
Club shooting will continue on Sunday morning.
