The students were keen to experience the court room experience having only viewed the setting on television.
One student declared; "I do want to join the police."
Their teacher Kelly Gaden said: "It is important for our students to see a court operating as they have not had that experience before so it is not just about future employment ideas but looking at our legal system operating."
The Queen's Counsels (QC) were obliging talking to the students and having their photographs taken just before everyone entered Court Two where a trial had began.
Later Ms Gaden expressed her gratitude to all those who made the visit successful.
"Students have been learning about the individual and the law as well as our legal system and the mechanisms for achieving justice," Ms Gaden said.
"It was a great opportunity for our students to consolidate their learning in the classroom with real world experience."
They observed proceedings in both the district and local court and were able to ask questions and talk with the magistrate and police prosecutor.
The barristers from the district court really enjoyed talking to the students about a brief history on the robes and wigs that they wear.
