Roberts missed Narwan's most recent outing to Moree, to face the Boars, but was informed the side gave away too many penalties which aided in their opponents' 38-24 victory.
"From what I was told the only thing that let our boys down was our discipline," he said.
"We called a meeting, brought in referees, on Monday just to see where we want to go as a club.
"That is the only thing that is hurting us this season, the piggybacks up the field."
Roberts will return to the fullback role after Luke French filled in against the Boars.
"He handled himself pretty well," he said.
"He likes the wing spot because there is not much pressure on him.
"He plays his best game on the wing."
Glen Innes made their way to Moree on Sunday as well, but to face premiers, the Boomerangs.
The Magpies struggled to field a team and managed to pull together 15 players.
They toppled the Boomerangs 42-38 and Roberts is expecting them to be full of confidence after the major feat.
"I heard Moree didn't to play to their best of their ability last week," he said.
"It is always a big win when you travel and you don't have a full squad.
"I think we have another really tough game on our hands this weekend.
Narwan have only played one of the Group 19 fixtures at their home base of Newling Oval where they beat the Armidale Rams.
Roberts is hoping to keep their win record at home intact against Glen Innes.
"It will set us up coming into the second round, given that everyone has to come to our home ground," he said.
"Four weeks away and now we get four home games.
"One big thing, we get our crowd behind us and we kind of lift that extra little bit for them as well."
