"We are thrilled to host ARTEXPRESS again at NERAM," director Rachael Parsons said. "This fantastic program really highlights the exceptional skill of our state's emerging artists and the important role arts education in high school plays in developing the next generation of cultural innovators."
The exhibition, Ms Parsons said, is a favourite with artists, art students, and school groups. Many people have already asked when ARTEXPRESS will return to NERAM. "We are sure that this year's exhibition will inspire and impress visitors."
ARTEXPRESS is jointly managed by the NSW Department of Education and the Board of Studies NSW. It is coordinated by the Arts Unit, Department of Education and Communities. ARTEXPRESS has exhibited the works of more than 3000 students in the past decade. It is a much anticipated event in NSW's cultural calendar, and draws national and international acclaim.
To coincide with the exhibition NERAM will host two ARTEXPRESS workshops, one for teachers (May 6), and one for students (May 7). Visit the NERAM website for more information.
ARTEXPRESS runs from Friday, May 3, until Sunday, June 30, at the New England Regional Art Museum.
