The St George Illawarra star is set for one of the most significant moments of his career when he plays in Thursday's Anzac Day clash with the Sydney Roosters.

The Dragons had only just edged Manly when players turned their attention towards the annual fixture, this time to be played at the SCG.

"Just in the showers, we were just talking about it then," Norman said.

"They said it's electric out there. We've got a short turnaround, so we've got to rest up, get our bodies right, and face the Roosters."

Despite being in his 10th season in the NRL, Norman has managed just three finals games in stints at both Brisbane and Parramatta.

And the 28-year-old has lost all of them.

But with a crowd of around 40,000 expected at the hallowed venue, and the Dragons gunning for a fifth straight victory, a sense of occasion awaits.

"When I got here, it was definitely something I looked at and was very excited to be a part of. I'm just looking forward to it now," he said.

It was only a year ago that Norman was desperately attempting to avoid a seventh straight loss to start the year at Parramatta.

And while the Eels managed to earn their first win, they still finished with the wooden spoon and Norman was eventually pushed out the door.

"Last year we played (Easter) Monday, so I think they're doing it again this year, Parra," Norman said.

"You normally watch that Thursday game and watch how good it is. Hopefully one day you (get to) be a part of it and I get to be a part of it this year."

Norman has been one of the Dragons' best over the opening six rounds, ranking third in the league in try assists and line break assists.

He's also produced two game-winning field goals in successive weeks, in what could be a push to oust teammate Ben Hunt for the Queensland utility role.

"I haven't really thought about it to be honest. I've always said, if your football's good enough, you'll get there. I'm not worried about that," he said.
