After missing out on the Douglas Shield grand final win last month, TAS turned their attention to securing the second grade title. The match was re-scheduled to Sunday after Saturday's wet weather but that didn't throw the TAS team off their game.
Easts sent them into bowl first and were left ruing their decision after TAS ripped through their side for 47.
Andrew Kirk was the standout with 5-8 from six overs while fellow opening bowler Hamish Cannington took 2-12. They were backed up by skipper Kieran Dennis with 1-12 and Liam Smith with 2-8.
"Andrew Kirk bowled brilliantly to pick up a 5-fa and he was well supported by Hamish Cannington and Liam Smith," Dennis said.
"We also took all our chances in the field which was really pleasing."
In their run chase, TAS only lost one wicket and reached the required 48 in less than 19 overs.
Last season saw the TAS team claim top spot on the table at the end of the round matches but they faltered at the final hurdle. Dennis said last year's defeat made them more determined.
"It was certainly one of the most enjoyable matches I've played for a long time. I hadn't won a competition with the firsts yet so to be able to win this one was really satisfying. We definitely learnt that it was important to be switched on the whole match if we wanted to win. Luckily we managed to take a few quick wickets which really helped set us up and get us on a roll, something we didn't do last year," he said.
