The Ben Venue captain Sophie Parsons won the toss and elected to bowl.
The Armidale City opening batters looked quite comfortable early in the innings however it was once again Myles Harris who clean bowled opener Charlie Foster in the third over.
The City batters Oliver Stubbs and Daniel Emmery then took control of the innings for the next seven overs until Stubbs was dismissed for 16 in the 10th over.
This was closely followed by Emmery bowled by Parsons.
Armidale City continued to build their score and managed a total of 9-82 from their 25 overs with Nathan Smith scoring 11 and Jarius Webster 6.
Best bowlers for Ben Venue were Sophie Parsons and Jackson Taylor both with figures of 3-7 off four overs.
The Ben Venue innings was dealt an immediate blow with opener Jared Frost caught and bowled off the second ball of the innings by Charlie Foster.
This brought Sophie Parsons to the crease to join Jackson Taylor.
Together Taylor and Parsons put on a steady 40 run partnership against some tight City bowling before Taylor was out caught for 11 valuable runs.
Alex Harris looked in good form until he was trapped LBW in front of his wicket for 0.
The following batter Myles Harris suffered the same fate falling LBW after scoring only one, giving Armidale City a spring in their step with Ben Venue 4-56 after 11 overs.
Cameron Frost joined his captain Parsons and the two batters steadied the innings with some good running between the wickets and good shot placement.
Ben Venue eventually took the match reaching the 4-83 after 14.4 overs with Parsons and Frost both not out on 21 and nine respectively.
Best bowling for Armidale City were Charlie Foster 2 for 7 off 3 overs, Oliver Stubbs 1 for 11 off 3 and Hamish Eastment 1-5 off one.
Ben Venue now go on to play either Sir Henry Parkes or Glen Innes Public School in round three of the competition.
