The National Youth Championships are now just two weeks away and entries are now finalised. 130 competitors will be in Armidale to contest five events in numerous divisions but mainly compound and recurve.

The event will also be the final opportunity for archers wishing to contest the World Archery Championships. There will be tough competition particularly in the 20 and under men's compound division.
The NSW State team was announced two weeks ago and Armidale Archers have four of their members in this. The team consists of 10 recurve archers and 10 compound archers and range in age from 10 to 20 years old.
Ella-rose Carson and Jamie Hatch were named in the recurve team with Brodie and Josie Hatch in the compound one.
Brodie was also named team captain along with Madeleine Boyle from Penrith who will be one of the 20 and under girls to watch in her compound division.
Teams have come from across the Country and there are also four competitors from New Zealand one of whom is in the New Zealand World Championship team.
Ryley Griffiths was last week selection in the NZ team as a cadet 15 and 16 year olds even though he is still eligible to shoot as a cub archer who are 13 and under.
At the NSW Presentation night for success in 2018 Armidale archers once again performed well.
Ella-rose Carson was named best all-round junior Intermediate female and best overall Intermediate archer.
Jamie Hatch was best overall intermediate male, Brodie Hatch best all-round Under 20 and Under 17 junior male compound and Josie Hatch best all-round junior compound female and best overall cub female archer.
All four also received Elite Classification medals.
As well as the above archers Mackenzie Harper will be competing in her first National Championships in the Recurve Female Cub division.
All the target events will be held at Newling Oval and the field event will take place at Armidale's Rockvale Road range. Spectators are most welcome at Newling Oval but the field event is not open to the public.
