Well, maybe you don't quake in fear, but you might sometimes feel you miss out on great things happening in Armidale simply by not knowing they’re on until they’re off. I certainly used to feel that way.
That’s why I created ARMEVENTS. Armevents is a free subscription-based email list for sending and receiving announcements about public events of interest to local residents.
In plain language, it’s What's on in Armidale.
What does that mean for you? Well, first of all, you can get an email in your inbox every morning with a list of things going on in Armidale. Like the look of any of them? Click the link to find out where, when and what – with contact information should you need more detail.
Is it complicated and technical? Not at all!
There’s just two easy steps. First, go to armevents.groups.io, click the big blue button, and enter your email address. Second, respond to the email you immediately get from the Armevents system to confirm you really do want to join.
If you prefer not to go near a website, you are welcome to drop me a line at main+owner@armevents.groups.io. I can send you a personal invitation – again you must reply to the invitation email for the system to confirm your membership.
If you are a bit more tech savvy, you are welcome to mess around on the website: edit your profile and settings, subscribe to the calendar of events, and lots more. But that is all optional.
What else is great about Armevents? It’s an easy way to publicise local events. If you are putting something on, large or small, that is of interest to local residents, you can send an announcement to the whole list just by writing an email.
The beauty of Armevents is you craft your own announcement. Of course we moderate all messages before they actually go to members, but if you follow the (few) guidelines, that is a quick process. Your message will be in members’ inboxes within hours.
It’s a great system, loved by our current 230-odd members (all a little bit odd, but not too much!).
But of course to be really fabulous, we need heaps more members. So please share this info - and put up the poster you’ll get when you join where others will notice it.
