Little Llangothlin Nature Reserve is one of the last remaining high altitude freshwater lagoons along the New England Tablelands.
Protected under the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands, this hidden gem is a refuge for more than 100 species of birds and an abundance of animals.
National Park and Wildlife Service Area Manager Michael Lieberman said he is excited to welcome families to the reserve to celebrate this momentous occasion and discover the mysteries of the lagoon.

“Little Llangothlin Reserve is internationally recognised by the Convention of Wetlands of International Importance, and we also believe it is something to be celebrated.
“We have activities for young and old, and we look forward to sharing our knowledge of the area, while you hopefully see some magnificent creatures through your binoculars.
“The celebration will be a great opportunity to gain a better understanding from National Park and Wildlife Service rangers of how the lagoon provides habitats for vulnerable and rare species.”
“Come walk through this special place, and enjoy a cuppa and some cake on us!”
Birthday with the Birds is on Saturday, February 2 2019, from 9.30am until 12:30pm.
