The move followed a meeting between the horse’s trainer, Darren Weir, and Queensland stewards, ahead of the famed race for two-year-olds.
A veterinary examination on Thursday found that Yes Yes Yes – the winner of two of his three career starts (all in Melbourne) – was displaying rump soreness and some lameness in the near hind leg.
On Friday morning Weir requested that Yes Yes Yes be scratched, as doing so was in the horse’s best interests.
The colt travelled in a float from Melbourne to the Gold Coast after being bumped from a plane on Monday.
