As the first of many events to celebrate the centenary of Angus Australia, the International Angus Youth Roundup will be held at to Armidale's Showgrounds from 12.30pm on Thursday January 10-13.

The roundup will see 185 participants aged between 8 and 25 roll into Armidale to participate in the largest single breed event of its kind in Australia, which will host various education sessions and competitions allowing participants to learn from industry professionals, without the need to supply their own livestock.
Roundup co-ordinator Zac McInerney thought the event was an excellent opportunity for young beef enthusiasts to learn from some extremely experienced members of the industry.
"All while networking with likeminded young people and having fun at the same time,” he said.
Mr McInerney said numerous awards would be presented to Angus Youth across several different criteria during the roundup.
It wold also focus on fun with the Barnyard Olympics and heifer show competitions part of the event program. The Special Dinner Dance and auction returns this year, with roundup participants and their families coming together with sponsors to enjoy a night of entertainment in a silent and live auction to raise funds for the Angus Youth programs.
The Parent’s Bus Trip will also take in an excellent itinerary around the surrounding areas of Armidale.
