“Except for maybe my husband, because he has to!”
But with the year coming to an end, we caught up with the science lecturer from the University of New England who said it has been really nice to be stopped in the street in Armidale by readers.
WATCH: Dr Mary McMillan talks about her column Science Matters:
Science Matters was one of the new columns introduced to our website this year. It has also been printed each week in the Armidale Extra.
“You don’t hear that much about science in the news,” Dr McMillan said, when asked why she started writing the column.
“I had this brainwave and thought this (column) would be fun to do so I got in touch with the team at The Armidale Express and they said ‘yeah, sure, let’s do that’.”
With 2018 drawing to a close we have taken the opportunity to catch up with some of our writers about their columns. They will be run on our website over the coming days.
As well as explaining what they write about, and what insight they are trying to provide, we also asked them about the feedback they receive from the community.
