“Easts are the form team in the comp, the other week someone was saying we are the form team but our form is just up and down,” he said.
“We can't put results on the table every week.”
Taylor believes Easts have a good “mix” of players.
While their bowling attack has often drawn attention, with the likes of Jackson Gwynne, Sam Uphill, Todd Francis and Brandon Burey, Taylor said their batting line-up is equally as dangerous.
“Clash [Clarrie Moran] can score 100 any day, Cody [Graham] is coming off the back of 100 against Servies.
“Then Todd [Francis] can come in and Cameron [Ashe] can bat.
“Then chuck Aaron Whackett in there as well.
“Nearly their top six can score runs on their day.”
With numerous one-day and two-day grand final wins in the Easts squad, Taylor is looking forward to seeing how they fare.
“We will probably go in with another batter this week just to help us a bit with the Easts bowling attack,” he said.
“A good challenge for us to see if we are up there with the top team before the Christmas break and see what we need to work on.”
Easts will be missing Sam Uphill from their line-up for this Saturday’s match but are otherwise full-strength.
“He has been bowling really well for us and a big out,” skipper Todd Francis said.
“We will just get another one in and hopefully the right result.
“We are still confident with our bowling attack to do the job but having him out is a pretty big out too.”
City are the team who have come closest to toppling Easts after securing first innings points in their two-day game in the second round.
Francis said his team “know what they can do” and will have to be on song to topple City.
“We just have to nullify their better players and hopefully that will go a long way to securing the result,” he said.
“Karl [Triebe] holds a pretty big key for them so if we can get through him unscathed as much as possible that would be great.
“He is a pretty good player all-round to be honest.
“They have some power up the top there with Kyle.”
