She said when she had told people she was playing at the inaugural Forage Fest, Armidale’s craft beer and live music festival, the ARIA hall of fame inductee was informed it would be a cold place.
But on stage, on the top level of the Rusden Street car park on the warm summer’s evening, Chambers discarded the scarf, saying it was much hotter than she had expected.

The headline act topped off an event the sun shone brightly on, with 800 people there to enjoy the music and the drinks, and judging from the feedback, it looks set to become an annual event in the city.
On the top deck of the car park, the space which had been converted into a concert venue with shaded seating areas and artificial grass, there were hundreds of people enjoying the entertainment and the sunshine.
The event was organised by The Welder’s Dog, and events manager Jade Meddemmen said they had received a lot of positive feedback.
She said a many people had complimented them on organising a great event, saying how good it was to have something like this held in Armidale.
Jade said it would definitely be held again next year, although there could be some changes and new concepts added.
In the meantime, she said they were grateful to the support they received from Armidale Regional Council as well as the businesses that sponsored Forage Fest.
“Council were a big support, we couldn’t have done it without them,” Jade said.
